Global Charging Alliance GCA
Membership

Join the alliance

Membership is open to companies that make, design, test or supply charging products and the components inside them. Founding members joining during the 2026 launch period pay no fee.

Membership tiers

Three ways to take part

Membership is deliberately simple. There is no grading of members, no preferential position in the directory, and no tier that buys a favourable mention in published material.

Launch period

What membership is

What you actually get

Membership is not a badge. It is a place in the directory, a seat in the working groups, and access to material before it is published publicly.

  • A directory entry stating your company, products and location, with the source of the information recorded
  • Access to every working group, and the right to propose a new one
  • Draft material circulated for comment before publication
  • A direct route to request corrections to anything published about you
  • The right to withdraw from the directory at any time, without explanation
Applying

How to join

There is no form to fill in yet. Send an email and the secretariat will reply with the current membership terms and an application reference.

Applications are reviewed by the secretariat against the criteria on the right. The alliance aims to respond within ten working days.

Criteria

  • The company operates in the charging or portable power sector
  • The company can be verified as a real, trading entity
  • The company is willing to be listed publicly in the directory
  • The company accepts that membership confers no certification, approval or mark
Before you apply Membership does not give you a certification, a test report, a compliance statement or the right to use any GCA mark. There is no such mark. If you need a product certified, you need a standards body and an accredited laboratory — the [standards index](/standards/) explains who to talk to.
